My main computer(the one that allows me to easily record podcasts) is having some heating issues... I guess it's too damn hot here in sunny Northern California. Mic was not my best friend, he was mediocre at recording my voice. He was depressing looking with his duct tape that held the cable into him... I will miss him. But as David Bowie said "is there life on mars?"... wait, that wasn't what I wanted to say... Oh yeah! I'm going to be moving to new mic after the Memorex's very timely demise. I hope to get a new sub-par mic Friday or Saturday(depending on the tips from the night before). ChrisCCL and JM Campbell, if either of you read this send me an inexpensive(less than $20) recommendation(if you can buy it at best buy/radioshack/circuit city then Brownie points to you).

I was casually discussing a movie with a friend in a public place the other day. We were chatting about favorite scenes, the funniest moments(the movie was Napoleon Dynamite) and a man sitting next to us and asked why we would be talking about such a crappy movie. Now I don't care what your opinion about this film is but regardless of the quality of the movie I should be able to express my opinions with my friends by ourselves without someone commenting on our opinions and saying we are wrong. I understand that that is his opinion and he is entitled to it, but I hate it when people disregard my(or my friends) opinions to push their own upon me. This guy got me pissed off and I cannot believe that I have to live with people shoving their personal opinion down my throat when I didn't ask for it and at the same time takig a crap on my own opinion(that I didn't shove down anyone's throat by the way). Anyway, I just had to put this here to help put my thoughts in perspective and to release it from my mind. -D

You may have noticed that many of the podcasters who are using Libsyn also are offering links to a feed for torrents. I don't know whether I recommend this or not due to the fact that most podcasting clients leech(download) much more than they seed(upload). If you want to try out the torrent feed and tell me your experience with it, please add the link that says "P2P podcast" to your aggregator and post a message here or shoot me an email. I'd like to know if I should even offer the option of the torrent feed.

I decided to let all you tech/movie geeks know about some of the free Apps(applications for you humans) that I can't live without. If you're tech geek you probably know about these already but for the uninformed here it goes:

Movie/Music Related Apps:

DVD Profiler- An awesome program that letÃïïs you keep a database of all the DVDÃïïs that you own.
VLC- Video Lan Client is a program that I just like... I can't explain it....maybe because it plays almost everything you can throw at it.
iTunes/Quicktime-I own Windows, but want a Mac.
Internet/Security Related Apps:

Firefox-Two words, tabbed browsing. Plus IMDb toolbar, TV Tome toolbar, Wikipedia toolbar, Amazon toolbar, Ebay toolbar, etc...
AVG- You need an anitvirus, why not get a good free one.
Microsoft Antispyware, Spybot, and Ad-Aware- you need these too and three is better than one.
Gmail Notifier- So I can know that I still donÃïït have any email.
Trillian- AIM, Yahoo, and MSN Messenger all in one App...with IRC too.
iPodder- 1+ sucked, 2+ Is pretty good.
Other Apps:

Yahoo Destop Search- Like the "Dog Search"(windows owner should know what I'm talking about) only 1.9 trillian times faster, For example, you're searching for that Batman The Animated Series- Season 3- Episode4.avi file that you downloaded, you type "bat" and you already have results with "bat" in them.
Konfabulator- this is just cool, the iTunes controller is friggin' awesome
If you have any sugestions for other free apps that I should try, post them here!

Just wanted to keep you in the loop, I made a few Teen Titans(A comic and cartoon) related 3D renders for the Guys over at Comic Geek Speak they run a very cool podcast and they have a video they made up that's actually pretty good. Speaking of videos, I finished a video project that Richard Vobes was helping me with. I'll talk more about it on tonights show, where I will review The Ice Storm and The Marvel Age Fantastic Four(trust me they relate to one another). Also I'd Like To alert you to the fact that Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, Kevin Rose, And Robert Heron(AKA Some of the members of the original Screensavers) are starting there own podcast Called Revenge of the Screensavers(ROTSS) that you all need to check out...more on how that relates to me that later.

I can't sleep...I'm trying to decide whether or not I should consider myself a comic podcast. I mean I know that now and again I'll post comic related podcasts, and while this first episode came out with a definite slant for comic books, I really feel that calling myself a comics podcast is ludicrous considering I am more of a movie geek than a comic book geek. I will probably end up reviewing and talking about movies and TV more than comics. Please don't take this the wrong way, I love comics and still plan on talking about them from time to time. But I think that I may have to limit that to comics that I think have an appeal to a more mass audience than certain books do. The reason I'm posting this is because I noticed that I'm linked to on Neil Gorman's Site Comicology as a comics podcaster, and that scared me. I am in no way an authority on comic books, go to Neil's site for links to some awesome people that are(as is he), and I don't want people coming here hoping to get all comics all the time and get disapointed by the lack of comic coverage. If people are disapointed about this I'm sorry it's just that my passion in life is film and that's what I know best. So Neil if you're reading this I hope that you can forgive me but I think that it would be in the best interest of the Comics podcast world if you'd take me off your Comics Podcast list.
